Dennis Merley's employment law practice concentrates on counseling and risk prevention. He advises management on a broad range of work place issues, including employment discrimination, harassment claims, accommodation concerns, wrongful termination, minimum wage and overtime, downsizing, severance agreements, unemployment compensation, drug and alcohol testing, employment contracts, Family and Medical Leave Act, affirmative action and employee handbooks. He also works extensively in supervisor development and training, and conducts employment law compliance audits.

Mr. Merley has again been selected for inclusion in the newest edition of the prestigious The Best Lawyers in America, and he is a fixture on the annual list of Super Lawyers® in Minnesota Law & Politics.

Mr. Merley is the editor of the "Minnesota Employment Law Letter," a monthly review of new and important legal developments affecting Minnesota employers. He is also known as the "Baseball Commissioner" for his work in directing a youth baseball league for almost 800 St. Paul children every summer, and he is the co-founder of the “Penguin Baseball Academy,” a fall/winter indoor baseball instructional program.
