Extension of DED For Liberians

President Biden recently extended Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) status for Liberians until June 30, 2022 so that they can apply for adjustment of status under the Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness (LRIF) provision on or before December 20, 2021.

This also extends Liberian employment authorization cards (EADs) until June 30, 2022 for EADs with an expiration date of either March 30, 2020 or January 20, 2021. Employers may use this Presidential extension to document I-9 compliance since it will not require Liberians to apply for new EAD cards.
