EDWARD J. BOHRER, IN MEMORIAM

Felhaber Larson mourns the passing at age 86 of our long-time colleague, mentor and friend Ed Bohrer.

After graduating from St. Mary’s Winona and the University of Minnesota Law School, Ed joined Felhaber in 1962 and embarked on an extraordinary career in the field of labor law.  He was a skilled and patient negotiator at the bargaining table, always mindful of the need to advance his clients’ interests while ensuring that their business was not disrupted.  Ed also was a gifted counsellor who worked collaboratively with his clients to find creative and effective solutions to their human resources concerns.

Ed retired from Felhaber in 2005 but continued his life of service.  He worked as a Guardian ad Litem to advocate for children  in the court system.  He also volunteered in a number of roles for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis as a way to live his Catholic faith and give back to his Church.

At the office, Ed was celebrated for his exceptionally kind manner, gentle humor and ready smile.  He treated everyone at the office as a good friend and respected colleague, and he was always there to answer a question or offer an opinion when asked.

Ed is survived by son, Steve (Ann); daughters, Therese Noel (Charlie); Jackie Bohrer (Dave); son-in-law Dennis McGreevy (Tammy); Brazilian son, Jocival Ferreira (Grant) and grandchildren, Clare, Josh, Nick, Peter, Katherine, Maria, Grace, Barbara Jean, Luke, Joe and Owen, as well as many other loving family members.  He was preceded in death by first wife, Barbara, his late wife Mimi and his daughters Amy (Reed) and Barbara M. Bohrer.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 26, at Our Lady of Victory Chapel, St. Catherine University, with Visitation one hour prior.  Memorials may be sent to CSJ Ministries Foundation.
