Felhaber Larson Welcomes Our 2023 Summer Associates

Felhaber Larson is pleased to welcome our summer associates, Marina Cruz, Alexandra Diwik and Matthew Friedmann to the firm.  We are committed to our summer associate program that provides a meaningful work experience alongside our attorneys on interesting and challenging projects in a variety of practice areas as well as opportunities to experience the real practice of law and network with all of our firm members.

Marina Cruz.  Returning for a second year in Felhaber’s summer associate program, Marina is a rising 3L at the University of St. Thomas School of Law.  She did her undergrad at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University where she studied Global Business & Hispanic Studies and earned a certificate in Entrepreneurship. Prior to attending law school, Marina earned her Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate from the University of Toronto and spent a year teaching English online, she continues to teach a class once a week. Marina is on the board of the MN Hispanic Bar Association.  She just recently returned from the National Hispanic Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law Institute in Washington, DC.  She was one of 25 students throughout the country chosen to participate.

Alexandra Diwik.  Ally graduated magna cum laude from Colgate University with her BA in Political Science. Prior to attending law school, she worked in retail while also working remotely for a mental health nonprofit. At the University of Minnesota Law School, Ally has been involved with the Women’s Law Student Association (WLSA), serving as the Professional Development Liaison which includes serving as a board member with both Minnesota Women Lawyers (MWL) and the new UMN Law School AluMNae organization. Ally also participated in National Moot Court during her 2L year and is looking forward to being on the National Moot Court competition team as a 3L.

Matthew Friedmann.  Matthew is a third-generation North Dakota State University graduate, where he received his B.S. in HR Management and M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration.  While at NDSU, Matthew was the student body president.  A rising 2L at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, Matthew is the Social Chair of the Law School and President of the hockey team the “Fighting Apostles.”  Additionally, he is a part-time research assistant for the Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership.
