Scott Blake serves as outside general counsel to a wide range of businesses and business owners. He frequently provides advice and counsel to businesses on employment law issues, including the FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and discrimination statutes, drafting employment handbooks, workplace policies, and employment agreements, and investigating and disciplining employees. He also works with clients in drafting and negotiating executive compensation agreements and non-compete agreements so that his clients’ customer relationships, confidential information, trade secrets, and business interests are adequately protected.
While Scott’s goal is to provide advice that keeps his clients out of lawsuits, he also has the experience and expertise necessary to zealously advocate for his clients in the courtroom. His litigation experience includes defending companies in employment-related claims, non-compete and trade secret claims, and other commercial and business disputes. He also has extensive experience representing business owners in shareholder disputes and has demonstrated an ability to find effective and pragmatic ways for his clients to separate themselves from business partners when necessary.
