Colleen represents clients in employment and business matters, together with workers’ compensation claims and disputes. She also serves as outside general counsel. Colleen strongly believes in helping employers/businesses keep pace with the changing workplace to prevent problems from incurring in the first place. And, when problems do arise, she defends or institutes lawsuits and administrative actions using mediation and arbitration as appropriate to quickly resolve disputes. Early dispute resolution is key for her clients.
Colleen works closely with her clients in providing counseling and representation in all areas of employment law, including FMLA, employment discrimination (including gender, age, religion, disability, national origin, and race), defamation, non-competes, breach of contract, wage and hour, whistleblower, alcohol and drug testing, wrongful discharge, and workers’ compensation injuries. She advises employers on personnel and policy issues, drafting employment agreements, restrictive covenants, company policies, confidentiality and trade secret agreements, and handbook provisions. Colleen also investigates complaints of employee misconduct (including harassment and offensive behavior).
Her business consulting and litigation practice ranges from company formation and corporate governance, to contract disputes, and litigating business tort claims.
