LABOR RELATIONS – MANAGEMENT

The scope of our labor representation is rooted in Minnesota, but has expanded nationwide because of our strong reputation, deep knowledge, and expertise. Our long and consistent history of serving the interests of management in union and labor issues has given us a depth of perspective and insights into solutions across the entire scope of issues that may arise with a unionized workforce. It is challenging to succinctly catalog the depth and breadth of our labor experience, but the following are examples:

Labor Relations Management
  • Sophisticated multi-employer and coordinated collective bargaining;
  • Strategic advice and counsel on all matters stemming from the substantive labor laws, regulations, and agency guidance both at a federal and state level;
  • Develop and implement comprehensive labor relations strategy in close partnership with our clients;
  • Review, analyze, and provide advice on company handbooks, policies, and procedures as they relate to the substantive labor laws;
  • Deliver customized training programs on employee relations and best practices associated with the same
  • Advise management about strategies to achieve collective bargaining goals;
  • Advice and counsel on communication strategies with employees, the press, and public officials about negotiations and labor relations issues;
  • Respond to actual or threatened strikes, other work stoppages and union picketing
  • Advise, coordinate and execute on strike contingency planning.
  • Grievance and arbitration proceedings before arbitration panels or single arbitrators;
  • Represent clients in interest arbitration proceedings
  • Advice and counsel on contract administration;
  • Represent and advocate for clients in representation and decertification proceedings before the NLRB and state agencies.
  • Routinely appear before the National Labor Relations Board on behalf of our clients
  • Defend and prosecute unfair labor practice charges before federal and state agencies
  • Guide clients and respond to union representation campaigns and litigated representation proceedings
  • Litigate labor-related claims and allegations through the agency and civil court systems
  • Conduct due diligence pertaining to labor matters in connection with mergers and acquisitions
